I grew up in Irvine located in sunny Southern California. With a love for the outdoors at an early age, I started riding horses at age 4 and rode until age 34. The topography of the western states eventually led me to becoming a geology major, but then a move to North Carolina resulted in my obtaining a Master of Accounting and my CPA license, which I did until having my first-born child and becoming a stay-at-home mom.
But all the while, I still loved walking, biking, hiking, and running. In my 40s, I started running 5 and 10ks and playing a lot of competitive tennis, both of which I still do today. I also developed a great passion for lifting weights in the gym, which led to me becoming a personal trainer. I have hundreds of hours of education in proper weightlifting techniques, mobility work for preventing and recuperation from injuries, and balancing resistance training with cardiovascular training for optimal health. This is especially important as we age.
Over time, I wanted to add to my practice in order to help clients who expressed unhappiness with how their bodies and health were changing with age, but didn’t feel they were getting the answers they needed from their doctors. I was also going through the same issues myself while also seeing how health conditions affected my mother's health, and I was driven to learn all I could. So, I decided to pursue my Master of Science in Integrative Medicine + Nutrition from George Washington University. I am currently working as an intern at The Herbal and Nutrition Collective while finishing up my clinical hours for licensing, and I absolutely love the group that I work with and all that I learn every day. GW prepared me incredibly well for dealing with a large variety of health conditions that are related to nutrition, and I love helping new people lose weight every day, lower their cholesterol, improve the blood sugar levels, manage stress, improve sleep, and optimize nutrition and supplements.
I am currently training for a 21-mile trail race in Duluth, MN in October of 2026 and I still play USTA tennis at MacGregor Downs Country Club. I also love spending time with my two kids, Jack who's 21 at Wake Tech Community College and my daughter Ellie who just turned 19 and will be starting at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte this fall.
